Rookies carry Rangers past Phillies 5-1
Eric Hurley pitched into the sixth inning to earn his first major league win and Chris Davis homered to lead the Texas Rangers past the Philadelphia Phillies, 5-1 Sunday night. Hurley (1-1) allowed one run and five hits over 5 2-3 innings in his fourth big league start. The 22-year-old rookie struck out three and walked two. Davis, a 22-year-old rookie who was called up from the minors Thursday, became the first Rangers player to homer in each of his first two starts, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
